Joseph's family has had their jewelry store in Buffalo, New York, since 1900. Joseph earned his Graduate Gemologist (GG) degree in 1980, which — combined with all the years he's spent searching for, setting, and talking with customers about gemstones — makes him incredibly knowledgeable about what makes a gem special.
In his store he combines the best of old-world techniques with the latest technology. It's this marriage of traditional and new, classic and modern that makes Korona Jewelry such a special place to find your next jewelry treasure.
Prior to moving to Hertel Ave in 2004, we were located in the same storefront on Amherst St for 88 years. 2016 marked our 100th year in Buffalo.
Our business began in 1900 as Flork Jewelers. Florek became Florek-Korona Jewelry in the 1950s, after it was passed down to daughter Rose and her husband Joseph Korona. It is currently operated and owned by Joseph Jr., his wife Noreen, and their son William.
Joseph says, "As jewelers trained in traditional ways, we have a great love for quality materials and workmanship. To that, we add modern technology and techniques that allow us to be even more creative and responsive to your needs.
"Come to us to create an entirely unique design that suits your style, your ideas about what jewelry should look like, and your personal story. To create your custom design, we will guide you through a process that is memorable and will become an important part of the story of your jewel."
"Our love for jewelry is all tied up in the skills that we've honed over generations, and the fact that this jewelry business has allowed us to raise families and work together.
"We are here to replace your watch battery, or restore a treasured family heirloom. After 100 years, it is still exciting to dedicate our skills and history to keeping your jewelry — and your family stories that go with it — in perfect condition. And every time you shop with us, you become part of this family story. That's just the way it works."
